"Momma, Do I Look Beeeeeautiful?"

So.... Natalie has a new haircut. So, while Mommy was trying to create Christmas cards, Natalie and Logan were quietly cutting paper with kids scissors. Natalie comes up to me and says, "Momma, do I look beautiful." The first thought was 'oh crap what did she do.' So I take a good look. No it's not lip stick. No it's not fingernail polish. No nothing to do with a marker. Then I see it. YES... Natalie cut her hair.

All I could do was cry. I had to hide in the closet so that I can calm myself down and figure out what I should do next. Natalie then realized that she did something wrong and started crying too.





She cleaned all her hair up with the dog tap roller thing.

one of my coworkers at WFM has a very cool magnetic top that when spun properly, it floats, suspended by magnetic force. Just to showboat, we encased it in a glass jar while it remained spinning.

Natalie's first soccer game was today! She is a member of the Blue Sharks, a team in the Hays County U5 League. Attached are the video highlights.

So, since Saturday the 21st, Logan has been wearing his Spider Man costume. Today would be day number four. He and the costume have become one. He even gets upset when it's time to go potty because we have to take it off. So, I guess maybe we need to add other super hero costumes to the repertoire, just so we'll be able to wash them from time to time.

Natalie's First Haircut!

Well... I guess it had to happen sooner or later.... Natalie got her first haircut!  She has been asking about getting one for some time, so we finally decided to let her get one today, along with Logan.

She really was excited, but she got *so* relaxed when they shampooed her hair, that she looks really mellow in most of these pictures.  After we left, she was pretty psyched, and told everyone that would listen about her haircut.

Even though she got 6 inches clipped, it was mostly in the back, and just evened her hair out.  She still has *plenty* of long locks to spare.  Enjoy the pictures! (click through the image to see the rest)

The Story Behind The Picture: The Rainbow

This is one of my favorite pictures of Karyna... it was taken on June 8th, 2001. We were visiting my friend's dairy goat farm, right after it had rained. I didn't even realize there was a rainbow until I downloaded this picture, days later.

Minivan Safari

A few weekends ago we did the Safari at Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. While it is kind of expensive ($15/adult, $7/child), it is definitely something worth doing once. The kids and abuelos really enjoyed it, and Karyna enjoyed it right up until the point that a Zebra got nice and friendly with her.

Biking on the Block

Logan and Natalie like to ride bikes, but especially Natalie. She is really proud of her "big girl" bike and she does a pretty good job on training wheels.

Here is the trike that Logan rides that used to be Natalie's. He still hasn't quite mastered the pedal action so it helps to have the handle in the back to keep things moving.

Logan at Two: Daddy's Thoughts

This was my buddy Logan shortly after we brought him home from the hospital.


At age two, it is finally time for me to come to grips with the fact that I don't have a baby anymore!


In the month of May, Logan just hit a huge development spurt and it really caught us all by surprise. He started:

• sleeping in a real bed (anyone need a crib?)
• potty training
• eating in a regular chair, no more booster
• being completely rambunctious and fighting with his sister, earning timeouts left and right

In general, he just really has begun asserting himself as a growing dude and member of the Odom family. It all happened so fast, and really caught me by surprise. I am looking forward to the bigger kid activities (he likes to play catch now), but I certainly do miss having a "baby" around.
